There are two sets of Committee members up for vote. One group is at the State level, the other is a county level. A Committee member may serve at both the State and County level. They serve 2 year terms.
In the case of County Committee Members, two may be elected from each voting district. If no one runs, the seats are left empty. There are currently over 100 openings.
The County Committee does similar things that the State Committee does, only on a county level. Our County has the following Committees (due to the lack of participation, some only have one member). (see http://lehigh.mygopsite.com/about/ for more details)
At the County Level, one write-in vote is all it takes to join up. In the rare case that you have three or more people vying for seats, then the one with the most votes will win.
